On Saturday, the 21st of April 2012 was a momentous day for BruStol and BruBath, who collaborated to organize the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony. Held in Bath University, the ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha followed by a speech given by the President of BruBath, Harris bin Karrim. The guest of honour, Cikgu Khalid bin Haji Sulaiman also gave some encouraging words to the students and mentioned that he was pleased to see the collaboration of the two societies in organizing events like this and hope to see more collaborations between societies in the future. Also present during the ceremony was Cikgu Kamaliah Haji Abdul Rahman and Ustaz Haji Sammali bin Haji Adam.
The ceremony consisted of the students reciting several 'surah-surah lazim', doa takhtim, doa khatam and ended with a melodious recitation of dikir marhaban whilst Cikgu Khalid and Cikgu Kamaliah distributed gifts to the participants. The ceremony ended with Ustaz Sammali reciting the doa selamat. The nasyid group "Wardatul Jannah" from BruStol also gave a spontaneous performance to the crowd with their song entitled 'Ummi' that gave them the position of 3rd place in the Lagu Dakwah Competition in Manchester held some time ago.
