AIESEC Bristol Global Village 2015

Hello everyone!

Once again, BruStol society reached out to AIESEC for participation in the Bristol Global Village Food event. An annual event, Global Village is an opportunity for diverse cultures and countries to come together on a special night to display their history and traditions, both for their national pride and for the sharing of knowledge and love with others. Multiple booths were set up in University of Bristol's Merchant Venturer's Building on Saturday, 19th of November, 2014, including the Polish Society, Malaysian Society, Korean Society and more.

This year, BruStol prepared a large variety of cakes and teh tarik to interest others, armed with knowledge and confidence of their home-made delights. Fresh penyaram, bingka susu, bingka pandan and teh tarik were presented by our current and former committee members, Nouzhah, Syaza and Aziemah, while other BruStolians Siti Junaidi prepared potato and vegetable popiah and an eager Emily Lin impressively produced an array of sapit, kuih mohr, bahulu, cornflake clusters and kek batik.








 

Furthermore, members of the committee came dressed in traditional Baju Kurong to show their pride for their nation as well as the balance between a keen Malay fashion sense and demure modesty. 

Over £140 was raised in the name of Brunei, and the profits earned by the BruStol Committee will be used diligently for future events. The Committee would like to thank all the people who came and supported the event, as well as everyone who took the time and effort to produce the wonderful food we sold. We hope to be an active part of future AISEC events, as well as any international culture event and any opportunity to showcase the beauty of Brunei and its rich culture!
